Initially an imprint of Neale Watson Academic Publications, Inc. (now Watson Publishing International), members of the original editorial advisory board included, among others, John Abrams, Derek de Solla Price, Jerry Stannard, Lester King, Robert Multhauf, Duane Roller, Henry Guerlac, I. Bernard Cohen, and Michael Hoskin. Notable early publications included The Care of the Sick: The Emergence of Modern Nursing by Vern and Bonnie Bullough; Reason, Experiment, and Mysticism in the Scientific Revolution, Bonelli and Shea, eds.; The Chemical Philosophy by Allen G. Debus; Man Discovers the Galaxies, Berendzen, Hart, and Seeley; Science in Culture by Susan Faye Cannon; and more recently Designing Experiments and Games of Chance by William R. Shea; The Medical Skills of Ancient Egypt by J. Worth Estes; and Surgery of the Soul by Joseph E. Murray.
In the early 1980s, fulfillment and customer service were moved to Academic Services in Canton, Massachussetts. Recently these departments have relocated to Sagamore Beach, Massachussetts to complement our editorial and marketing departments.
